How Mentai.dev handles data

This policy covers the Mentai.dev platform and, where it is made available, Mentai Chrome Agent. It explains the different data flows for the online platform and the local browser-control component.

Data controller and operator

Mentai Group Ltd operates Mentai.dev and is the legal publisher and data controller for Mentai Chrome Agent. Mentai Group Ltd is registered in England and Wales under Company No. 17228050. Registered office: 66 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NA.

Mentai.dev platform data

We may process account details, profile information, questions, answers, tutorials, comments, learning progress, support messages, partner inquiries, notification preferences, subscription-reference information, and technical information needed to operate and secure Mentai.dev.

Mentai Chrome Agent

Mentai Chrome Agent is a local Windows browser-control application in release preparation. Its Chrome extension communicates with the locally installed application using Chrome Native Messaging. Because Mentai.dev and supported AI workflows cannot reliably control a user's local Chrome browser directly, the Agent is intended to provide a controlled local connection for browser tasks that the user requests. This description does not mean that the Agent is generally available.

Browser information processed during a requested task

Depending on the task, Mentai Chrome Agent may process browser tab URLs and titles, browser and tab state, visible page content, page controls and forms, user-directed clicks, typing and navigation, and screenshots requested for the task. These activities correspond to the Chrome Web Store disclosure categories Web history, User activity, and Website content.

Local processing and supported AI workflows

Ordinary browser-control data is exchanged locally between Chrome and Mentai Chrome Agent and is not routed through Mentai Group Ltd servers. If the user invokes OpenAI Codex or another supported AI assistant, selected tool results, page information, or screenshots needed for that user-requested task may be processed by OpenAI. OpenAI acts as an AI service provider or processor where applicable under the relevant service terms and account configuration. We do not operate a cloud relay for the ordinary browser-control path.

Browser security boundaries

The normal browser-control path does not intentionally read cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage. Mentai Chrome Agent is not designed to automate passwords, CAPTCHA challenges, two-factor authentication, payment confirmation, banking or security verification, or similar sensitive actions that require the account owner.

Local records and retention

Limited browser-task records, diagnostics, and screenshots may be retained locally on the user's Windows PC for operational or recovery purposes and are subject to local retention and redaction controls. Mentai.dev platform records are retained only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, protect users and the platform, meet legal or accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. Service-provider retention for a user-requested AI task is governed by the applicable provider terms and account configuration.

How browser data is used

Browser data is used only to perform, support, secure, or recover the browser task requested by the user. Mentai Group Ltd does not sell browser data, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

Sensitive information

Mentai.dev is not designed to collect payment card details, government identity documents, medical information, or special-category personal data. Do not submit highly sensitive personal information through public content, support forms, or browser tasks unless it is genuinely necessary and appropriate for the requested task.

Payments

Payment card details are handled by our payment provider. Mentai.dev stores subscription-reference information needed to manage Pro access, but does not store card numbers.

Cookies and similar technologies

Mentai.dev uses essential cookies to keep users signed in, protect forms, remember preferences, and maintain security. It does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. See our Cookies page. This platform-cookie processing is separate from the Mentai Chrome Agent browser-control path described above.

Why we process data

We use data to provide Mentai.dev, personalize learning and account features, process subscriptions, send transactional messages, improve quality, protect against misuse, perform user-requested browser tasks where the Agent is used, and comply with legal or operational obligations.

Service providers

We may use trusted providers for hosting, databases, email delivery, payments, AI functionality, storage, and security. They process data only as needed for their role. For supported AI browser tasks, only the selected task information needed by the invoked assistant should be shared with that provider.

Your rights and choices

Depending on applicable law, users may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a copy of their personal data, and to object to certain processing. Users may also raise a concern with their data-protection authority. To ask a privacy question or exercise a right, use our contact page.
